My client for the Morina & Stagnitta project wanted to find all possible records (birth, marriage, and death) for the four siblings of her maternal Grandmother, Egidia. These were the children of Alessandro Vecchio and Giuseppa Ponticello, from Linguaglossa, Catania, Sicily.
In doing the research, I found Alessandro and Giuseppa actually had six children. Salvatore, child #3, was born in 1888 and died in 1889. You'll note Alessandro and Giuseppa named their next born son, in 1895, after their first Salvatore. This was a typical custom in Italy.
Sometimes you can't find everything you are looking for. For Egidia's siblings, I was not able to find a birth, marriage, and death record for each sibling. However, I was able to find at least one record for each and, thereby, provide a pretty look at Egidia's siblings.
It should be noted all the records found for Egidia and her siblings were Church records from Santa Maria delle Grazie, their Church in Linguaglossa. As with most Church records, they are in Latin.
